Touch (Hereafter) by Jennifer Snyder

Touch
Blurb (fromGoodreads):
Seventeen-year-old Rowan Harper knows her life is forever changed the moment her schizophrenic mother commits suicide. What Rowan doesn’t realize is how much her mother’s choice altered her own fate. It’s not until after meeting Jet, a sapphire-eyed dead boy, Rowan begins to learn of her new destiny as becoming her mother’s replacement for something she never knew existed.

Plus a bonus short story-Choice- told from Jet’s perspective!

People often say everything happens for a reason. Seventeen-year-old Jet Donavan Mathews is about to find out that statement is not always true. Jet will learn that sometimes there are moments which were never meant to occur, moments where you are left with a choice.

This is a short novella about a girl called Rowan. Her mother committed suicide 5 months ago, after battling with schizophrenia for years.

After a car accident, the last thing Rowan expects is to suddenly start seeing dead people, and she begins to wonder if she is going crazy the way her mother did. But when one boy who keeps appearing finally speaks to her, she finds out that things are worse than expected - Rowan is set to become a reaper!

This novella was short but enjoyable. I loved Rowan, and the reaper Jet, and am interested to find out what happens to them next! I thought that the story was well written, and the storyline seemed well thought out.
Overall; a good YA novella about reapers.
